Proverbs 11:25
GIVING OPPORTUNITIESGeneral Budget – Our general budget supports staff salaries, operating expenses, missions, and our many ministries with children, youth and adults. Everything we do if because of the prayerful financial support of CUMC members and friends
Footprints for the Future – Cashiers United Methodist Church has purchased the 6.3 acre tract of land adjacent to our existing south property to provide the “Footprint” for the expansion of our campus ministries. God is calling believers of this church to Step Out in Faith to provide a place to know, love, serve, and share Christ with our community and the world.
Good Samaritan Fund - Through this fund, our church has been able to help folks in need in tangible and substantial ways. After an interview with the pastors, we may choose to help with heating bills, medical care, rent, counseling, or other worthwhile needs. Due to the increased demand in these troubled financial times, there are many ways we can be the hands and feet of Christ with your help. Simply designate your check with “Good Sam” on the memo line.
Missions Fund – The arms of Cashiers United Methodist Church reach out far and near to provide help to those in need. Financial assistance is always needed to help support three missionaries serving in other countries, our own mission building teams who continue to go to places ravaged by Katrina, as well as lending support to many other local and distant places. You may choose to designate a special gift to the Missions Fund, but should know that a portion of each dollar given to the general fund also goes to support missions.
Cashiers Cares Christmas Gift Market – We have many special opportunities for giving around Christmas. A new one that started in 2008 is called Cashiers Cares. This event was held in the Cashiers Community Center after the Christmas Parade. As an alternative to buying expensive gifts for people who don’t need them, folks had the chance to support local charities in someone else’s honor. Those who came were treated to the ongoing celebration of community that began with the parade, a free hot dog lunch, and the children had free pictures taken with Santa. Our church helps sponsor this event which has collected thousands and thousands of dollars to serve our neighbors in need.
